Its thanksgiving weekend and we are working on getting the centre section of the blanket completed. Here’s how one section is progressing so far:

Today, we were joined by button blanket makers Lou-ann Neel and Lily Erford. Both of these women shared with us stories regarding how they learned to make blankets and how their creative process has evolved. Lou-ann, for example, told us about her experience in learning to work with embroidery as an alternative to securing blanket designs on with buttons. Apparently, she taught herself this method by watching Youtube videos. While in class, Lou-ann showed us one of her blankets which had been made using embroidery and it was beautiful!
